If your canopy feels too tight or your slats aren't aligning, it is almost always due to the frame poles not being fully seated.

_Note: The Cubby 2 Bed with Dream Hub began shipping out in Spring 2026. Orders fulfilled before this date included the Cubby 1 model. Additionally, you can easily identify your version by looking for an embroidered 'Cubby' logo on the front of the canopy (indicates Cubby 2) and/or a rainbow-shaped light on the hub (indicates the Dream Hub)._ ___For additional details about each model,__ __[click here](https://help.cubbybeds.com/en_us/how-can-i-tell-which-cubby-bed-or-technology-hub-model-i-have-HJ4BFGMYg)____.___

### Troubleshooting a Tight Cubby Bed Canopy

If you are struggling to zip the canopy around the frame, follow these model-specific compression checks:

**Pole Seating**

Ensure every pole is pushed as far as possible into connectors. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap poles into place if needed.

Ensure poles are fully seated in the steel connectors before tightening the screws with your ratcheting wrench.

**Release Tension**

Unzip all three (3) entry doors and the Technology Hub portal. This provides the extra slack needed to guide the canopy over the corners.

**Visual Check**

No silver metal should be visible at the point where the pole meets the connector.

Ensure the screw holes in the poles align perfectly with the connector holes.

### Troubleshooting Mattress Slat Fit

If the mattress slats do not appear to fit onto the frame, the frame is likely slightly over-expanded.

**The Fix**

Loosen the corner connectors and push all poles inward toward the center.

Loosen the frame screws slightly, push the length and end poles inward, and re-tighten.

**Slat Security**

Ensure the 10 slats are evenly spaced and secured with the provided velcro straps.

Bolt the 4 Screw-in Slats first. If the slide-in slats fall through, the frame is too wide (must be 54").

**Measurement**

Frame will measure 54" W x 87" L.
